PoolMarine Corps Base Pools & Beaches

Water safety is the primary focus at all Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) pools and beaches. A variety of classes are offered year-round to teach and enhance existing aquatic-based recreational skills at every level. MCBH boasts four pools: two at Kaneohe Bay and one each at Camp H. M. Smith and Manana Housing.

 

With its four pristine beaches, Kaneohe Bay provides opportunities for ocean swimming, snorkeling, surfing and body boarding.

Spring Board Diving Class

Spring Board Diving classes for kids ages 7 & under through 13 years are now available at the Base Pool.
Cost is $50 (for four sessions) and a U.S.A. Diving Insurance is required. Call the Base Pool for more info, 254-7655 or view PDF.

The Camp Smith Swimming Pool is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lap swim. Manana Housing Swimming Pool is open from noon to 6 p.m. for recreational swim.

Flick & Float at the Base Pool Friday

May 25 ~ 1800-2200

Everyone loves movies and we know lounging in the water is a favorite pastime. Why not put the two together! This is a genius and fun event for the whole family! *Bring your own inflatable raft or floating device and snacks! Movie starts at 1830. Children under 10 years and under must have a guardian with them to gain entrance. Cost is $2.00 per person. Click here for flyer.

 

Keiki Water Safety Camp- starts June 11

In this class kids will learn about the ocean environment while having fun through ocean safety education, teambuilding exercises, and activities. The class includes beginning lifeguarding rescue techniques, wave riding skills, beach games, and under water reef exploration. Click here for PDF flyer.

 

Jr. Lifeguarding – starts June 18

This is a five-day course, Monday through Friday, 0900-1200 instructed by MCCS Semper Fit Water Safety Lifeguard professionals. The junior lifeguard program familiarizes teenagers, 13-17 years old, with ocean awareness and safety. It will include beach skills, ocean training, surf rescue techniques, physical conditioning, and swimming, CPR, First Aid and other related activities. Click here for PDF flyer.

Party Your Way with MCCS Aquatics

One of MCB Hawaii's greatest aspects is that you can swim year-round. What's even better, you can throw pool parties year-round. MCCS Aquatics hosts private pool parties at the MCBH K-Bay Main Pool and the Manana Housing Pool.

Tuesdays through Fridays, weekends and holidays, MCCS Aquatics invites you to party your way at one of the base pools.

"Pool parties are great for birthdays, youth teams ceremonies, even family get-togethers," says Dino Leonard, MCCS Aquatics Assistant Manager." Each party package includes a 20' x 20' tented area, picnic tables, and a barbeque grill for grilling your favorite feasts. The Kaneohe Base Pool offers a water slide, diving boards, and a kiddie pool for the peewee party folk. "The pricing is very affordable, and the locations are all convenient," furthered Leonard, "all it takes is a call."
