Operation Homefront


			Marine Corps Base Hawaii and Marine Corps Community Services are proud to present Operation Homefront, a program designed for the families of deployed Marines and Sailors. This program includes a series of free monthly events for family members to attend. For free tickets to upcoming events, please contact your unit Family Readiness Officer (FRO). Upcoming free events for families of the deployed: July BayFest 2008 Sunday, July 6, 2008 1200-1600 BayFest, one of Hawaii’s biggest events, is held right here aboard MCB Hawaii Kaneohe Bay, July 4-6. Bring your family for some cool carnival fun, and kick back and relax at the designated family tent next to Hangar 101. August Family Day Picnic Saturday, August 9, 2008 1200-1500 Enjoy a leisurely Saturday picnic at Kaneohe Bay’s Riseley Filed. Kick back in the shade, participate in games and activities and watch the kids have a blast in the two bouncy houses. All of the accommodations will be provided, including coolers, tents, tables, chairs and recreation equipment. September Pool Party Saturday, September 13, 2008 1200-1500 Beat the summer heat at the Family Pool Party, held at the Kaneohe Bay Base Pool. We’ve got all the fixin’s for the ultimate splash down, from a water slide and diving boards for the kids, to relaxing, shaded picnic areas for the families. October Halloween Costumes & Pumpkin Decorating Competition at Tiki Island Sunday, October 26, 2008 1400-1700 Tiki Island plays host to a Halloween-themed Operation Homefront. Dress up in your favorite costume for a chance at prizes, then head to the activities table and bring a pumpkin to life. November Family Movie Day Sunday, November 16, 2008 1300-1600 Movie fans take note – The Family Movie Day, held at the Kaneohe Bay Base Theater, includes a free matinee and more! December Santa’s Village Sunday, December 6, 2008 0900-1200 Operation Homefront families are invited to visit this fun winter wonderland complete with tinseled trees and twinkling lights.
