Website tips: Frequently Asked Questions


Here are some helpful tips on how to use this site to find the information you are looking for.

 

1. How do I know what I should choose on the Home page? I am a military member and I have a family.
The MCCS Hawaii website has four different categories on the Home page to click on to enter the site: Military Member, Military Families, Retired Military and DoD Civilians. Depending on which you choose, the page you land on will have information best suited to that category. However, once within the site, you are free to view the drop down menu for any category in the horizontal menu bar.
2. Is there a quick way to access some of the more popular pages?
On the Home page of the website, under the Special Events & Promotions button, there are "Quick Links" that will take you directly to that page. So if you want to get to the theater page, click that link and you will be there.
3. How do I navigate around the website?
Within the website you will find the blue horizontal menu bar underneath the logo will be your primary way to navigate around the site. Your left sidebar menu will change depending on what you choose from the horizontal drop down menu.
4. How can I find what I'm looking for?
There is a Google search box on almost every page of the website located on the top of the left column. Type in your keywords, hit Enter and your results will appear on the page. AND it only searches the MCCS Hawaii website.
5. Is there a site map listing of every page of the website?
On every page on the website at the very bottom is the "footer". In the footer there are links to various pages and websites. One of the most useful links there is for our site map page. You can look at the site map page to see all of the pages within our site. So if you're unsure where to find what you're looking for, start with the Google Search Box in the upper left column, and if you can't find it there check out the site map.
6. How can I see what events are coming up?
The Special Events & Promotion page is for any event or promotion that is coming up in the near future. If you just want to know when something is happening, it will usually be listed here. You can get to this page by clicking the button on the home page or the button in the left column of each of the category home pages (Military Member, Military Families, Retired Military and DoD Civilians). This is a good page to bookmark for quick reference.
7. How can I find out what classes are being offered?
The MCCS Calendar is the most useful tool to use when you want to know when a certain event or class is going to take place. You can use the drop down button to the right of the Agenda tab to deselect any calendar(s) you DO NOT want to see to narrow down what you are looking at. You can view aerobics classes, theater listings, specials at the clubs and lots more. Give it a try. You can get to the calendar page from the home page in the quick links under the category icons and each of the category home pages (Military Member, Military Families, Retired Military and DoD Civilians).
8. What's the difference between "Dining" and "The Clubs"?

In the drop down menu for Military Members you will see "Dining" and "The Clubs". In the Dining area, you can find information on all the eating establishments on base. The Clubs points you specifically to our officer, staff NCO and enlisted clubs. You can also get to the "Dining" menu from "The Clubs" left sidebar menu and vice versa.

 

 

9. Do you have a list of current sales?
If you want to know what is on sale and when, then all you need to do is look at the Shopping & Services page. This page has a listing of the upcoming sales with a pdf of the sales ad and there are movie and CD releases of what is coming out within the next week.
10. I still have more questions, who can I talk to?
